According to the mechanics of Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes SLS AMG series was created for preparation of competition between supercars such as Ferrari and Lamborghini. Although the range of SLS lasted only from 2010 to 2014, it was enough to press on the market popular Italian bestsellers. The creators of this model decided to move forward with the launch of the production of a more modest version – AMG GT, but the AMG SLS, no doubt, left a large footprint in the history of the supercar.
The journalist from Top Gear magazine called SLS AMG «the best model in the world”, noting that it is more powerful than Ferrari 458, louder than Lamborghini Gallardo, and feels superior to even the Porsche 911 Turbo. This is only a personal opinion, but it is difficult not to agree with it, considering how close the car is to turn into iconic supercar.
